Jonathan Cooper and Martha Spurrier: How International Human Rights Standards should be Interpreted and Applied?

Mr. Jonathan Cooper is a Human Rights specialist with experience before English and International courts and tribunals, as well as conducting training programmers and advising on human rights issues in jurisdictions all over the world. Jonathan has particular expertise in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and human rights and equality rights in the EU.

Ms. Martha is a human rights lawyer with a particular focus on access to justice issues, equality and non-discrimination and cases arising out of police misconduct. She is currently involved a diverse range of human rights cases in the UK and internationally, including before the European Court of Human Rights and the UK Supreme Court.

The open forum was organized by Politics and Diplomacy Club, Conflict Resolution Club and International Relations Club. The distinguished guests underlined the main human rights treaties and bodies, the institutions protecting within Europe. The rights and the distinguishing criteria’s on conflicts were the main matters that Mr. Jonathan and Ms. Martha discussed. The students of Epoka University were interested on the issues and participated with the questions.
